DU Passerelle FLE (French as a foreign language) for students in exile in university integration
Registration for the DU Passerelle program at the University of Paris 8 is postponed to August 26, 2020.

The University of Paris 8 is mobilized to contribute to refugees’ reception by offering a University Diploma (D.U.) in “French as a Foreign Language” for refugees in university integration.
The University Diploma in French as a Foreign Language is exclusively intended for refugee and asylum-seeking students who are beginners or false beginners in French. This diploma aims to provide them with a level of linguistic mastery that will allow them to be integrated into a French-speaking higher education program to resume studies interrupted or not started in their respective countries of origin.
Objectives
- Acquire the full B1 level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
- Achieve certain ease and autonomy in the written and oral acquisition of French.
- Be able to make yourself understood both orally and in writing in French.
- To know the main socio-cultural aspects of French society.
- Find your way in the French media (press, TV, radio…)
- Be able to work independently and exploit online resources and sites.
- Appropriate the necessary information concerning the functioning and literacy of the university
- Getting your bearings in the social, cultural, and artistic environment of the Île-de-France region (cultural visits planned during the course)
- To have the information necessary to make choices about continuing education at Paris 8 or other institutions offering other courses.
Selection Criteria
Candidates are selected through a preliminary interview and orientation test according to the following criteria:
- have the status of refugee, subsidiary protection, or asylum seeker
- have a university education or a diploma equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (high school graduation) in their country of origin
- Motivations to pursue or begin university studies
Application Form
The admission campaign for the University Diploma (D.U.) in “French as a Foreign Language” for students in university integration (session 2020/2021) will be held from August 24, 2020, to September 21, 2020 (provisional dates).
