Inalc’ER: a program for students in exile

Presentation:

Inalc’ER is a springboard program created in January 2017 by Inalco, with the support of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie. It allows reintegrating refugee or asylum-seeking students into a university program for their professional integration, based on their own language and valuing their culture of origin, making it the only program of its kind in France.

The first objective of Inalc’ER is to bring refugee or asylum seeker students up to date in French to join one of our Bachelor’s degree programs or to integrate other short professional courses (DIU, BTS). At the same time, since Inalco offers university courses in more than a hundred different languages, Inalc’ER students can also enroll in courses in their own language (Pashto, Arabic, Swahili, Kurdish, Fulani, etc.), thus enhancing their skills and participating in fruitful exchanges with French students learning, for example, Fulani, Arabic or Pashto.

Some sixty exiled students of fourteen different nationalities have benefited from the Inalc’ER program since its creation.

Starting from the beginning of the academic year 2020, the INALC’ER program becomes the INALCO Gateway program, which gives you the right to receive a CROUS scholarship, either financial or for housing.
