The University of Rennes 1 in solidarity with Lebanese students

The University of Rennes 1 has announced its solidarity with Lebanese students by waiving their registration fees for the academic year 2020-2021.

In a statement published by the university on its website under the title “The University of Rennes in solidarity,” it expressed its full support to the Lebanese community following the tragedy that has struck the country since the explosions in the port of Beirut on Tuesday, August 4. Stressing that the University of Rennes 1 assures the entire Lebanese academic community its solidarity in the terrible ordeal it is going through today.

In solidarity, the university will facilitate measures to welcome Lebanese students, particularly through the exemption of tuition fees that applies to all extra-community students for the academic year 2020-2021.

We welcome this decision and encourage the rest of the French higher education institutions to show solidarity with the Lebanese community and people, especially the students.
