Measures in favor of students in Paris

During the confinement period related to the Covid-19 epidemic, aids and supports for students were put in place. Here is the list of these.

Housing and scholarships

  • Students housed at the CROUS de Paris who wish to leave their accommodation during the confinement period are exempt from paying rent for the period. To report a departure from their accommodation: 01 40 51 62 00
  • The scholarships are maintained. For all questions about scholarships: 01 40 51 62 00 or by mail on “My student services.”
  • The schedule of applications for the 2020/2021 scholarships is not modified.

Social assistance

  • Students in precarious situations can apply for emergency assistance from the CROUS de Paris. Find all the information on how this aid is granted. The CROUS Paris develops in particular aid concerning food vouchers for the most precarious students.
  • The criteria: to be under 35 years of age, unless a disabled student, to be enrolled in initial courses/training, with no nationality condition for both grant and non-grant students. Request to be made by email to the CROUS social workers: contact-servicesocial@crous-paris.fr
  • Some universities provide emergency assistance, such as the University of Paris (check with your university).
  • The Agoraé solidarity grocery stores are open.

Psychological assistance

  • APASO sets up free telephone psychological consultations for all Parisian students: make an appointment by telephone on 01 40 47 55 47 or by e-mail at etudiants@apaso.fr.
  • Listening chat open by nightline from 9 pm to 2:30 am on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • The Student Health Foundation of France (FSEF) offers free video consultations with psychologists. Appointment by email: rel.heuyer@fsef.net.
  • The APSYTUDE system, video consultations with a psychologist > 06 27 86 91 83 or by email rdv.apsytude@gmail.com.

International students

  • In these quite exceptional circumstances, several residence documents’ validity period is extended by 3 months from March 16, 2020. Even if your student, researcher, or other residence permit expires, you will be considered to be in a legal situation on French territory, and you will keep your right to work and your social rights.   • The legal offices for international students continue in a dematerialized way—the requests. Requests for interviews should be sent to apaso-paris@apaso.fr for the legal department’s attention, specifying the subject of the request. The person will be contacted by telephone.

Associations

  • All the aid set up by the City of Paris for associations
  • The current calls for projects (Call for student initiative projects and Call for projects on disseminating scientific culture) will consider the recent difficulties encountered by associations.
  • Apply for the Kit-à-se-lancer to receive a 500€ project start-up grant on mie.paris.fr

Solidarity initiatives

Keep busy and informed during confinement.

  • The Maison des initiatives étudiantes de la Ville de Paris (MIE) shares information, tips, and calls for solidarity in Paris via Facebook and Instagram @MieParis and via the newsletter (twice a week). Receive the newsletter.
  • The MIE continues to support all students through :
    – a platform on mie.paris.fr with all available courses.
    – a general telephone hotline on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on 06 85 22 52 69 to answer all questions.
    – a permanence for associations or students wishing to create an association on Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m.: the creation of an association, search for financing, communication, development of partnerships, project management, drafting of its statutes…
    a permanent office for student entrepreneurs on Mondays from 1:30 to 2:30 pm: statutes, business plan, communication, marketing…
