Call for applications for Civic Service Mediation

For young statutory refugees between 16 and 25 years old.

Civic Mediation Service with the Paris Local Mission and the City of Paris.

This mission allows you to discover and develop skills in intercultural mediation, in contact with actors of the social and cultural field, by intervening directly in the field with the public.

You will be hired, depending on your location, on a site of the local Mission of Paris, a library of the City of Paris, or a reception structure of the Centre d’Action Sociale de la Ville de Paris (Social Action Center of the City of Paris).

As part of your mission, you will act as a mediator. Your mission consists of :

Going to meet the public to open dialogue during the first reception, to give to understand the functioning of the place and to orient (in the waiting room, during collective meetings,…) ;
Listening to their expectations and mobilizing your relational skills to facilitate the link between users and professionals (counselors, receptionists, librarians, social workers, etc.);
Help and accompany those who wish to do so in their efforts (digital mediation, physical support, etc.);
Participate in the animation of collective times (workshops, collective information, outings, etc.);

Volunteering also includes a component of support for socio-professional integration.

You are supported throughout your commitment and beyond for a total of 9 months by the Paris Local Mission in the construction of your professional project and your entry into employment or training.

You will also benefit from 3 hours of French classes per week, connected with your mission and your professional project, to improve your skills. You will also have the opportunity to take the Diploma of Studies in French Language (DELF) at the end of your voluntary service.

A minimum level of French is required for the mission (B1 oral).

The number of volunteers sought: 10 volunteers.

Civic service allowance: 580 euros per month.

Start of the mission: January 2021

Duration of the mission: 7 months

Number of hours per week: 24 hours (excluding training and support for professional integration)
